Counseling services

Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of conditions, bringing you experience and insight into our work together. I work with individual adults utilizing evidence based practice that honors your experience and sees you as the expert on your own life. I’m here to support you in personal growth, whether that is working on a condition such as anxiety or the need for general support. Talking helps.

I use attachment theory, narrative therapy, feminist theory, and existential counseling to support our work together. I use other techniques and skills as needed, such as CBT, mindfulness, and self compassion work. If you have any questions or curiosity about my training or theoretical orientation as a counselor feel free to reach out.

Her professional demeanor and experience often shows up in the classroom and her clinical work. She is a student clinician who takes her work extremely serious. As a supervisor, I have no concerns about assigning Julie any case as she is the type of student that you know will dedicate herself to the client and work toward positive outcomes.

Mind body connection

I am uniquely situated and trained to look holistically at the body. With my training in Nutrition, taking classes along side registered dietitians at Bastyr University, I studied the intersection of health and mental health. I had the opportunity to take courses in biofeedback; looking at how our breath impacts our mental status, courses nutritional pharmacology; studying how diet and supplements impact our mental health, and this was along side both traditional counseling and nutrition classes. My training emphasized the biopsychosocial model, informing me that our health is widely impacted by many aspects of our environment. I’m excited to utilize this model in my private practice, and share my education and passion with you!
